Putin, Azerbaijani president discuss need to implement agreements on Nagorno-Karabakh

The parties also touched upon issues related to the launch of efforts aimed at the delimitation of the Azerbaijan-Armenia border

MOSCOW, April 9. /TASS/. Presidents Vladimir Putin of Russia and Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan have held a phone call, discussing the need to implement trilateral agreements on Nagorno-Karabakh and issues related to the launch of efforts aimed at the delimitation of the Azerbaijan-Armenia border, the Kremlin press service said in a statement on Saturday.

"The parties discussed the outcome of Ilham Aliyev’s meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Brussels on April 6. The need was emphasized to fully implement the agreements that the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia had achieved on November 9, 2020, January 11, 2021, and November 26, 2021, and step up the activities of a trilateral working group on boosting economic and transport links in the region. The parties also touched upon issues related to the launch of efforts aimed at the delimitation of the Azerbaijan-Armenia border," the statement reads.

According to the Kremlin press service, the conversation was initiated by Azerbaijan.

"The parties reaffirmed their determination to maintain close interaction on pressing bilateral issues," the statement added.
