US does not react to Russia's queries over cyberattacks from US territory — Ryabkov

Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister remarked that the United States attached great importance to countering criminal activity in cyberspace, while Russia would like to make the dialogue in the field of cybersecurity comprehensive

MOSCOW, June 23. /TASS/. Washington, in fact, ignores Moscow' requests for information about cyberattacks against individuals, companies, and agencies in Russia being carried out from the US territory, Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said at the 25th annual conference of investors on Wednesday.

"The problem is the United States ignores Russia's requests, whenever we ask for information about cyberattacks against individuals, companies or agencies in Russia. Last year there were several dozen such cyberattacks. The US shared information concerning very few of them. So there are goals to be sought and there is much room for improvement," he said.

Ryabkov remarked that the United States attached great importance to countering criminal activity in cyberspace, while Russia would like to make the dialogue in the field of cybersecurity comprehensive.

"We will continue to insist that the dialogue should not be confined to this. We should discus other aspects of ICT security, we should discuss how our military doctrines in the process of being amended envisage resistance to such threats," Ryabkov said. "I would like to note that the sole way of achieving the goals set is through bilateral cooperation, with the ministries and agencies concerned on both sides taking part. Otherwise everything will end as usual.
