One killed, 14 injured in traffic accident involving 41 vehicles in Novgorod region

According to the local traffic police, the accident caused a four-kilometer traffic jam of trucks

MOSCOW, February 26. /TASS/. One woman died and up to 14 people were injured in a traffic accident involving 41 vehicles on the M-11 federal highway in the Novgorod region, the local traffic police told TASS on Sunday.

"Fourteen people were injured, five of them, including four children, were taken to hospitals with brain concussion," a police spokesman said.

According to the local traffic police, the accident caused a four-kilometer traffic jam of trucks. Car can bypass it by making a U-turn and taking another road.

The accident occurred at 11:00 a.m. Moscow time, when two trucks collided on the 502nd kilometers of the M-11 highway amid bad weather conditions. More cars and trucks ran into them later. One of the trucks splashed out bitumen.
