Seven Russians injured in road traffic accident in Turkey’s south

They have been hospitalized with non-life threating injuries

ANKARA, October 16. /TASS/. At least seven Russian citizens were injured in a road traffic accident with a tourist bus in Turkey’s south on Saturday, the local Demiroren news agency reported.

The accident occurred in the Manavgat area in the Antalya province, the agency said.

Poor weather conditions due to which the driver lost control, are preliminarily mentioned as the reason for the accident.

Russia’s consulate-general in Antalya has confirmed that seven Russian citizens were injured in a road traffic accident with a tourist bus in Turkey’s south on Saturday.

"Early on October 16, at around 08:00 am (coincides with Moscow time - TASS), a bus carrying a group of Russian tourists from airport to hotels turned over in the Manavgat neighborhood. Seven Russian citizens were injured in the road traffic accident. They have been taken to local hospitals for first aid treatment," a source in the Russian diplomatic mission told TASS.

"According to preliminary information, the driver of the vehicle lost control on the slippery road after rain. Law enforcement bodies are investigating the reasons and circumstances of the accident. The consulate-general’s officials keep in contact with representatives of local authorities, the travel agency and administrations of hospitals," diplomats added.
