About 700 tons of scrap metal to be removed from Novaya Zemlya in coming year

According to the statement, the Northern Supplies and the cleanup missions in the Arctic continue as planned

MOSCOW, November 3. /TASS/. Russia's Defense Ministry plans to remove from the Novaya Zemlya Archipelago more than 700 tons of scrap metal in 2024, the ministry said in a release.

Over 2023, the ministry's return voyages have transported from the archipelago more than 1,200 tons of scrap metal.

"In 2024, we will continue the cleanup on the Novaya Zemlya Archipelago," the ministry said. "The plan is to collect and transport to the mainland more than 700 tons of scrap metal."

The Northern Supplies and the cleanup missions in the Arctic continue as planned, and the ministry controls the process and quality, the release reads.
