Domestic business easily replaces Western companies leaving Russian market — Putin

The Russian leader noted that production in the segment of medium and small businesses is now growing

MOSCOW, March 14. /TASS/. Domestic companies easily replaced the foreign companies, which left the Russian market, President Vladimir Putin said on Tuesday talking to employees of the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant.

"When Western companies left us, they thought that everything would collapse at once here. Nothing like this happened. The economic players in Russia grew up, got stronger, they got their own level of culture, their own established connections around the world. They easily replaced the departing companies," he stated.

Where it was reasonable, Russian companies "began to buy up these enterprises," the President went on.

"But there are still well-trained work teams, well-established cooperation chains that still work one way or another. In general, a whole cluster has been created. They took it easily," the head of state noted.

Putin added that domestic enterprises immediately filled the vacated market with their goods. He noted that production in the segment of medium and small businesses is now growing.
