Russia advocates greater role of developing countries in IMF, World Bank and WTO — Lavrov

It is reported that Russia will seek after democratization of economic governance and support the membership of the African Union in the Group of Twenty

NEW DELHI, March 2. /TASS/. Moscow is speaking in favor of increasing the role of developing nations in the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank and the World Trade Organization (WTO), Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Thursday at the G20 Foreign Ministers Meeting.

"We advocate the increase of the role of developing countries in IMF, the World Bank and WTO, and elimination of the Western monopoly in environment protection and human rights organizations,": the Minister said.

Russia will seek after democratization of economic governance and support the membership of the African Union in the Group of Twenty, Lavrov added.
