MOSCOW, February 8. /TASS/. TotalEnergies continues buying liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Yamal LNG plant under long-term contracts but halted extra spot purchases, CEO Patrick Pouyanne said at a teleconference.

The situation with the Yamal LNG is now clear, the top manager said. "We have the volumes of 4 million [metric] tons, the volume of long-term contract, to which we are committed. But we are strictly only on these volumes, as all the activity which was linked to spot extra volumes, we don’t take them anymore as per our commitment vis-a-vis the Russian business," Pouyanne noted.

TotalEnergies holds the 20% stake in the Yamal LNG project.
