Turkey ready to facilitate food and fertilizer export from Russia, says Erdogan

The Turkish president stressed that both parties are full of determination

ASTANA, October 13. /TASS/. Turkey is ready to facilitate the export of food and fertilizers from Russia, although this may cause concern in some countries, the country’s president Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday.

"We are determined to provide assistance both for the continuation of the current grain corridor deal and for the export of food and fertilizer from Russia, as you’ve said, to poor countries through Turkey. We can work together because we give [more] importance to poor countries than to developed countries. If we implement this, we can change the balance in favor of poor countries. I'm sure our joint steps will worry some countries, but we are full of determination. Our ministers and governments will hold meetings, they will strengthen our relations," he said at a meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) summit in Astana.
