No way to solve problem with Nord Stream engines so far — Gazprom CEO

The problem with engines for the Nord Stream occurred because Siemens is repairing engines only at the plant in Canada, who slapped Gazprom with sanctions, Alexey Miller said

ST. PETERSBURG, June 16. /TASS/. There is no way to settle the issue with repaired engines delivery for the Nord Stream gas pipeline so far, Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller said at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) on Thursday.

"I can objectively tell you straightforward that for the time being, there is no way to solve the problem occurred at the Portovaya compressor station. No such solution. Siemens is silent so far, attempts to find the solution. However, there is no solution. Gazprom, naturally, lowers the volume of supplies to Europe," Miller said.

The problem with engines for the Nord Stream occurred because Siemens is repairing engines only at the plant in Canada, the top manager said. Canada slapped Gazprom with sanctions and Siemens cannot now take engines repaired for Gazprom, Miller added.
