Europe underestimated impact of breaking economic ties with Russia — minister

At the same time, Maxim Reshetnikov stressed that Russia continues to export goods to Europe

ST. PETERSBURG, June 16. /TASS/. European countries underestimated the impact of breaking economic ties with Russia, Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov said on the sidelines of SPIEF-2022.

"Europe will not be able to prosper without us - not in the sense that it will die without us, but because our economies have complemented each other quite strongly. There will be a price for this divide," the minister said.

At the same time, the minister stressed that Russia continues to export goods to Europe.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum organized by the Roscongress Foundation is running from June 15 to 18. This year’s forum is dubbed: ‘New Opportunities in a New World’. The SME Forum, the Creative Business Forum, the Drug Security Forum, the SPIEF Junior Dialogue and SPIEF Sport Week are also going to be part of the SPIEF event.
