EU’s may be part of Greater Eurasian Partnership, if it changes its ideology — diplomat

It is stated that the partnership will not be established to spite someone

ST. PETERSBURG, June 15. /TASS/. EU’s participation in the Greater Eurasian Partnership is possible, if it changes its ideology, used to be known as "colonial, imperialist," Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Pankin said at a meeting within the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum Wednesday.

"The Partnership will not be established to spite someone. It will be voluntary, based on interests: maybe, cluster interests, a mix of economic, infrastructural, social and educational. It is a big renaissance of Asia. We extend our hand to the EU, should it change, let’s put it that way, its ideology," the diplomat said.

"We used to call it colonial, imperialist," Pankin said.
