Western bullying fails to scare away foreign investors from Russia, says Kremlin

Foreign investors are not just from the United States or from EU countries, Dmitry Peskov pointed out

MOSCOW, June 14. /TASS/. The West’s blackmailing and arm-twisting failed to scare away Middle Eastern, Chinese, Indian and other countries’ investors from cooperating with Russia, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Tuesday.

He noted that "many foreign investors will participate [in St. Petersburg International Economic Forum]."

"Foreign investors are not just from the United States or from EU countries. There are much bigger foreign investors from the Middle East, China, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, and from dozens and dozens of countries that have a much larger population than countries of the so-called collective West," the Kremlin spokesman pointed out.

"These investors are interested, and entrepreneurs will actively take part in the forum. We understand that they are all, of course, under the gun from nemeses in the collective West, who twist their arms, bully and blackmail, but all this blackmail is not capable of nullifying the interest of these investors in the Russian market," Peskov concluded.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum organized by Roscongress Foundation will be held on June 15-18. The theme of the forum this year is dubbed: New Opportunities in a New World. The event will also include the SME Forum, the Creative Business Forum, the Drug Security Forum, the SPIEF Junior Dialogue and SPIEF Sport Week. TASS acts as the official photo hosting agency and the information partner of the event.
