Uniper made first payment for Russian gas under new scheme — company

The process was agreed in advance with the German government and complies with European Commission’s instructions, the company noted

BERLIN, May 31. /TASS/. Uniper made the first payment for Russian gas supplies under the new scheme proposed by Moscow, the Finanzen.net business portal said on Tuesday, citing the German energy company.

"Like other German and European companies, Uniper has changed the payment method for gas deliveries from Russia. Uniper pays in euros in accordance with the new payment mechanism," the company informed.

"The first of these payments was made at the end of May," Uniper added. The process was agreed in advance with the German government and complies with European Commission’s instructions, the company noted.
