Ministry says Russia ready to support food security nationally and globally

"The country is working hard to ensure stability as far as the food situation is concerned, and not just domestically but on the international markets as well," Deputy Minister of Agriculture Andrey Razin noted

VOLGOGRAD, May 27. /TASS/. Russia is ready to uphold food security not just within the country but also on the global market, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Andrey Razin told reporters on Friday.

"You know, <…> many cases are reported and falsehoods are often employed, in repeated bids to pin the blame on the country and flip the narrative. We are starting to get used to this, treating it with a slight smile," the official said. "The country is working hard to ensure stability as far as the food situation is concerned, and not just domestically but on the international markets as well," Razin noted.

Russia will continue interacting with partners and is analyzing production aims, the deputy minister said. The priority is to hold a high-quality sowing campaign, and ensure the objectives related to increasing production in crops and livestock, as well as guarantee sustainable domestic consumption at affordable prices and be competitive on foreign markets.

"If you look at our results from the standpoint of a portion of currency revenues we are receiving from operations on foreign markets, then figures speak for themselves. Therefore, we are a reliable partner and will unconditionally honor our international commitments without any nuances," Razin added.
