Ruble up against dollar, euro as foreign currency trading starts on MOEX

As of 10:15 am Moscow time, the dollar exchange rate was down by 3.37%, while the euro exchange rate was down by 3.22%

MOSCOW, May 23. /TASS/. The ruble strengthened against the dollar and the euro compared with previous closing as foreign currency trading started on Moscow Exchange on Monday.

As of 10:15 am Moscow time, the dollar exchange rate was down by 3.37% at 58.2 rubles, while the euro exchange rate was down by 3.22% at 60.8 rubles.

As Monday trading opened on Moscow Exchange at 10:00 am, the dollar exchange rate rose by 11.5 kopecks at 60.3475 rubles compared with previous closing, while the euro exchange rate lost 44 kopecks to 62.38 rubles.

As of 10:15 am the MOEX Index was down by 0.12% at 2,370.53 points, while the RTS was up by 2.6% at 1,272.05 points. As trading opened the MOEX Index was up by 0.27% compared with the previous closing at 2,379.66 points, while the dollar-denominated RTS was up by 0.38% at 1,244.59 points.
