Obligations on Eurobonds ‘Russia-2022’, ‘Russia-2042’ in dollars performed, says ministry

Currently, Russia has 15 bond loans due from 2022 to 2047

MOSCOW, March 29. /TASS/. Russia’s Finance Ministry has performed its obligations on sovereign Eurobonds ‘Russia-2022’ and ‘Russia-2042’ in US dollars, the ministry said in a statement on Friday.

"The Russian Finance Ministry informs that the payment of coupon yield and the repayment of nominal value on external bond loans of the Russian Federation due in 2022 issued №12840060V ‘Russia-2022’ worth $564.8 mln (considering repurchase of those bonds previously by the Russian Finance Ministry), as well as the payment of coupon yield on external bond loans of the Russian Federation due in 2042 issued №12840061V ‘Russia-2042’ worth $84.4 mln have been brought to the payment agent on those Eurobonds (Citibank, N.A., London Branch)," the statement said.

The payments were made in the currency of the issue of respective Eurobonds - in US dollars, the ministry said, adding that the obligations on servicing sovereign Eurobonds are thus fulfilled with terms set by issuing documents observed.

In total, Russia has 15 current bond loans due from 2022 to 2047.

In early April, the Finance Ministry performed obligations on sovereign Eurobonds ‘Russia-2022’ and ‘Russia-2042’ to foreign holders worth $649.2 mln in rubles for the first time due to the foreign agent bank’s refusal to execute the order in foreign currency.
