MOSCOW, March 31. /TASS/. Western partners deceived Russian companies by terminating aircraft supply and servicing and leasing agreements, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday.
"A month ago European and US companies unilaterally refused to perform their obligations under contracts with aviation service companies in Russia. They essentially deceived Russian partners, having terminated supply, leasing, servicing and insurance of aircraft," Putin said. The airspace of European countries was also closed for Russian airplanes, the head of state said.
The share of domestically produced airplanes should grow dramatically over the decade, the Russian President added
"The share of domestic airplanes in the fleet of Russian air carriers should grow cardinally over the next decade. This is definitely a chance for aircraft producers. Certainly, with provision of the high level of quality, reliability and cost efficiency of our aircraft," the head of state said.
The country "has all the capabilities for the Russian aviation sector not merely to overcome current difficulties but also to receive a new impetus for development," Putin noted.
