Putin directs to allocate funds for LNG terminal construction in Sabetta

The deadline for completion of the assignment is until October 1 of this year

MOSCOW, March 28. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered to provide funds in the budget for 2020 and the planned period until 2022 for construction of the Utrenny LNG terminal in Sabetta seaport on the Kara Sea. The relevant assignment was given after the meeting with Cabinet members on February 27 of this year.

"Allocation of extra budget funds for construction of Utrenny liquefied natural gas and condensate terminal in Sabetta seaport and renovation of the navigable approach channel in the Ob Bay of the Kara Sea should be provided when preparing the draft federal law on the federal budget for 2020 and the planned period of 2021 and 2022," according to the list of assignments posted on the Kremlin’s website.

The deadline for completion of the assignment is until October 1 of this year.

The Utrenny terminal will be located on the Gydan Peninsula for needs of the Arctic LNG-2 project implemented by the gas producer Novatek. The plant capacity will be about 19.8 mln tonnes of LNG per year.
