MOSCOW, February 27. /TASS/. The servicemen of Russia’s Special Operations Forces are successfully achieving goals set by the country’s leadership during the special military operation, Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said in his greeting on the occasion of Special Operation Forces’ Day on Monday.

"During the special military operation, the servicemen of the Special Operations Forces are displaying flawless training, heroism and courage and are successfully achieving the goals set by the country’s leadership," he said.

The top military official noted that the Special Operations Forces are highly professional troops ready to fulfill the most complex tasks on defending the country. He asserted that they would continue to firmly protect Russia’s national interests and its sovereignty.

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the servicemen and veterans of the Special Operations Forces on their professional holiday in a video address published on the Kremlin website on Monday.

He thanked all the servicemen of the Special Operations Forces and the veterans of special designation units for their patriotism and "selfless and impeccable service to the Fatherland.".
