Containerized Tor SAM system having demand in the Middle East — developer

It is reported that the Tor is a unique system, it can operate on its own, without any target designation

ABU DHABI, February 20. /TASS/. The TOR short-range surface-to-air (SAM) missile system in a containerized version enjoys the demand in the Middle East, head of the Almaz-Antey delegation at the IDEX 2023 Sergey Kulakov told TASS.

The containerized version of the Tor SAM system has the modular principle of design and the option of accommodating combat and technical aids on any customer's platform of an appropriate carrying capacity.

"Our specialists can hold any consultations on this matter," Kulakov said, answering the question whether this system enjoys the demand in the Middle East because it can be used to protect oil rigs. The development of such system has been carried for quite a long period of time, the spokesman noted. We understood that a range of options should be offered to a customer that enables solving various tasks. This is because there is no oil rig security system globally and the Tor is a unique system, it can operate on its own, without any target designation," Kulakov added.

The IDEX 2023 exhibition is being held in Abu Dhabi, the UAE, from February 20 to 24.
