US asks to convene UN Security Council on North Korea on May 11

UNITED NATIONS, May 9. /TASS/. The United States sent a request to hold a meeting of the United Nations Security Council on May 11 on the situation with North Korea’s missile tests, a source in the organization told TASS on Monday.

"The US has requested a meeting late in the afternoon on Wednesday," the source said.

According to the Committee of the Chiefs of Staff of South Korea, on May 7, North Korea launched one short-range ballistic missile towards the Sea of Japan. It flew about 600 km, the maximum flight altitude was 60 km.
