US is looking for Zelensky's replacement after White House scandal — opposition politician

According to Viktor Medvedchuk, Washington now perceives Zelensky as a "stubborn animal that does not want to follow commands"

MOSCOW, March 10. /TASS/. The White House scandal has revealed the issues that have accumulated between Washington and Kiev, leading to a peak in US-Ukraine relations. Washington is now looking for a replacement for Vladimir Zelensky, according to Viktor Medvedchuk, the head of the Other Ukraine movement and former leader of the Opposition Platform - For Life party, which has been banned in his country.

"The scandal involving the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, US President Donald Trump, and Vice President JD Vance in the Oval Office was only the beginning of the problems that have accumulated between the US and Ukraine. These issues have been created throughout Ukraine's independence and have now reached their peak of tension," Medvedchuk wrote in his column on the media platform ‘Smotrim.ru.’

Medvedchuk explained that the primary issue in US-Ukrainian relations is that the US has invested substantial resources in Ukraine, but to no effect. Ukraine has failed to transform into a prosperous country, a showcase of the Western world. Additionally, Zelensky presents himself as a formidable force defending the collective West against Russia, Medvedchuk noted. "Trump has made him realize that he will have to deal with Russia on his own and without his participation. Trump does not see Zelensky as a force; rather, he views him as a political failure - a bankrupt who has bet everything and predictably lost. That's why, when Zelensky tried to assert himself, Trump deprived him of military aid, giving him the opportunity to demonstrate whether he truly is the tough guy he wants to appear to be," the politician said.

According to Medvedchuk, Washington now perceives Zelensky as a "stubborn animal that does not want to follow commands."

"His Western patrons, such as Prime Minister Keir Starmer, urged the political buffoon to apologize, but the White House did not grasp what the command meant," he pointed out. "It is not surprising that, after this, Washington has already written off Zelensky and is actively looking for a replacement."

The leader of the Other Ukraine movement emphasized that Trump’s policy aims to shield the US from responsibility for the Ukrainian conflict. "To achieve this, all responsibility for it should be shifted to Zelensky. For Washington, this is a convenient position for negotiations with Moscow, allowing them to bargain effectively. Therefore, Zelensky does not suit Washington, regardless of what he signed or what concessions he made. Meanwhile, he only worsens his position before the United States by arguing, making demands, and trying to find allies. As a result, the Americans will continue to ‘hit the mule with a two-by-four across the nose,’" Medvedchuk concluded.
