Trump administration allows to deport illegal migrants without court order

It is reported that the expedited removal process has "long been reserved primarily for the area near the southern border," with its major flows of illegal migrants while now it can be used across the US

WASHINGTON, January 22. /TASS/. The US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has expanded the powers of US law enforcement agencies, having allowed them to deport illegal migrants following the so-called "expedited removal" process, that is, without a court decision.

"The effect of this change will be to enhance national security and public safety — while reducing government costs — by facilitating prompt immigration determinations," the agency said in a notice published the following day after the inauguration of US President Donald Trump. According to the US Department of Homeland Security, this decision "will enable DHS to address more effectively and efficiently the large volume of aliens who are present in the United States unlawfully, without having been admitted or paroled into the United States, and ensure the prompt removal from the United States of those not entitled to enter, remain, or be provided relief or protection from removal."

According to the New York Times, the expedited removal process has "long been reserved primarily for the area near the southern border," with its major flows of illegal migrants while now it can be used across the US.

On January 20, Trump signed an executive order on declaring a national emergency on the border with Mexico. The US leader asserted that this will enable to send troops to the US-Mexico border "to repel the disastrous invasion of our country." Earlier, he repeatedly supported the toughening of immigration policies and the forced deportation of illegal migrants.
