CAIRO, March 21. /TASS/. The number of Palestinians killed in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the Israeli military operation is approaching 32,000, with almost 74,200 people injured, the enclave’s Palestinian Health Ministry said on its official Telegram channel.
"The number of victims of Israeli aggression in Gaza since October last year has increased to 31,988, with at least 74,188 people injured," the ministry reported.
The Health Ministry also indicated that in the past day, 65 people died in the Gaza Strip, and 92 others were injured.
The situation in the Middle East sharply escalated after militants from the Palestinian radical movement Hamas infiltrated Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, accompanied by the killing of residents of border towns and hostage-taking. Israel began retaliatory strikes on the Palestinian enclave and certain areas in Lebanon and Syria. On December 1, the Israeli army accused Hamas of violating the ceasefire since November 24 and announced a return to military operations in the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian authorities blamed the United States for the resumption of Israeli aggression.
