YEREVAN, January 10. /TASS/. Armenia deems Azerbaijan’s recent peace treaty proposals to be regressive, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan asserted at a joint press conference with Greek Foreign Minister Yorgos Gerapetritis.
"Yes, I would say that there is both regression and progress in some parts of Azerbaijan’s recent proposals. Our party has worked constructively on these proposals and sent them to Baku," the minister noted.
The top Armenian diplomat added that the basic principles of the peace agreement are crucial. Thus, Azerbaijan should recognize Armenia’s territorial integrity, border delimitation standards should be spelled out, and communications networks in the region should be opened up under a bilateral approach and within the framework of the sovereignty of those countries traversed by such networks. "Armenia expects the continuation of negotiations with Azerbaijan," Mirzoyan said.
