TEL AVIV, December 20. /TASS/. Israel’s air defenses have intercepted six rockets fired from the territory of Lebanon early on Wednesday, sending its warplane to deliver a retaliatory strike on the launcher and a group of militants, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Wednesday.

"Following the sirens sounded in the area of Yiftah in northern Israel, the IDF Aerial Defense Array successfully intercepted six launches from Lebanon. In response, an IAF aircraft struck both the launcher and the terrorist cell in Lebanon that fired toward Israel," the IDF press service said in a statement. "In addition, an IAF aircraft struck a Hezbollah military site in Lebanese territory in which a Hezbollah terrorist cell was operating."
