Ukraine concedes it built up forces near border with Transdniestria

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the Kiev regime has intensified preparations for a provocation that will involve an invasion of the breakaway Transdniestria, which it plans to carry out in response to the alleged offensive of Russian forces from there

MOSCOW, February 27. /TASS/. Natalia Gumenyuk, the spokeswoman for Operational Command South of the Ukrainian armed forces, on Monday said Ukraine massed troops near the border with Transdniestria.

"Our forces <...> are assembled along the border. They are adequate to the threat that is hypothetically possible," she said on Rada television, when asked about the situation at the border with Transdniestria.

Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said earlier on Monday that the Kremlin is closely watching the situation in Transdniestria and is concerned about what is happening there. He stated that the situation in the region is volatile and is being "provoked from the outside."

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the Kiev regime has intensified preparations for a provocation that will involve an invasion of the breakaway Transdniestria, which it plans to carry out in response to the alleged offensive of Russian forces from there. The ministry said that they are detecting a significant build-up of Ukrainian personnel and military equipment near the border, the deployment of artillery to positions, as well as "an unprecedented increase in flights of unmanned aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the territory of the TMR." The ministry promised to adequately respond to the plotted provocation, which would pose a potential threat to the peacekeeping contingent stationed in the republic.
