Hungary suggests lifting sanctions against some Russian nationals — government

Minister of the Hungarian Prime Minister's Office did not specify which particular individuals Hungary wanted to be excluded from the black list, though

BUDAPEST, February 25. /TASS/. Hungary and some other countries suggested excluding a number of Russian citizens from the EU’s sanctions list during recent debates in the European Union, Minister of the Hungarian Prime Minister's Office Gergely Gulyas said during a meeting with reporters on Saturday.

"The initiatives as to who was supposed to be on the list and who should be excluded have been set forth not only by Hungary," the official said, commenting on reports that Hungary was trying to lift sanctions against some Russian entrepreneurs and was against including some Russian officials in the list.

"When we ask for something like this, we write a personal justification," he added. That said, the official did not specify which particular individuals Hungary wanted to be excluded from the sanctions list.
