MOSCOW, August 15. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Russian gymnast Aliya Mustafina with winning the gold medal in women’s uneven bars at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games on Sunday, the Kremlin’s website said.
"During the 31st Olympic Games you won medals of all kinds, made a huge contribution to the medals box of our team and again showed high class of skill and huge will," the congratulatory telegram says.
Mustafina, 21, scored 15.900 points. Madison Kocian of the United States won the silver medal with 15.833 points and Sophie Scheder of Germany won bronze with 15.566 points.
The Russian gymnast also won bronze in women's individual all-round and silver in the team all-around competition at the Rio Olympics.
