Russian anti-doping body studies documents on WADA’s appeal with CAS

WADA announced on September 22 that RUSADA was non-compliant with the World Anti-Doping Code, due to non-conformities relating to national legislation

MOSCOW, November 24. /TASS/. The Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) has started studying case materials received from the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on the appeal from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the Russian agency’s spokesperson told TASS on Friday.

On November 18, WADA Director General Olivier Niggli announced that the global organization filed an appeal with the CAS regarding a case of RUSADA’s non-compliance with the WADA Code. The press office of the CAS reported on Thursday that it officially registered the appeal from WADA.

"We received a letter from the secretariat of the Court of Arbitration for Sport on November 20," the spokesperson said. "We are currently studying the documents."

WADA announced on September 22 that RUSADA was non-compliant with the World Anti-Doping Code, due to non-conformities relating to national legislation.

RUSADA Director General Veronika Loginova told TASS on October 13 that the agency had submitted a notification to WADA on refusal to accept the statement on non-compliance to the World Anti-Doping Code. WADA announced the intention to uphold its justice at the Court of Arbitration for Sport on the same day.
