Putin admits he is "boiling inside" after strikes on Belgorod

Russia should not strike back at places with Ukrainian civilians, President said

MOSCOW, January 1. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that he is literally "boiling inside" following Ukraine's strikes on Belgorod, but Russia should not strike back at places with Ukrainian civilians.

"I do understand. I'm furious myself," he admitted, while discussing the situation in Belgorod with military personnel. The head of state asked one of the fighters whether Russia, in his opinion, should respond tit for tat and hit civilians in crowded squares.

"Should we respond in this way? Of course, we can. We can hit the squares. In Kiev, and in any other city. But there are children playing outside and there are moms with strollers," Putin said, adding that this should be borne in mind.
