Russian diplomat dismisses idea of talks with Ukraine on Kiev’s terms as nonsense

Maria Zakharova was asked to comment on remarks by US Principal Deputy National Security Advisor Jonathan Finer, who said the US wants make sure that Russia agrees to hold talks with Ukraine on terms that are acceptable to Kiev

MOSCOW, December 12. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has ridiculed the recent assumption by a US official that Russia could have to hold talks with Ukraine on Kiev's terms by the end of 2024.

"Another piece of nonsense," she said at a news conference, when asked to comment on remarks by US Principal Deputy National Security Advisor Jonathan Finer, who said the US wants make sure that Russia agrees to hold talks with Ukraine on terms that are acceptable to Kiev.

"Perhaps Finer has simply forgotten that he said a little earlier that it is necessary to fight until some final victory, until, as we say it, the last Ukrainian, because that is what the United States of America has turned the situation in Ukraine into," Zakharova said.
