Russia preparing to take part in virtual G20 summit — Kremlin spokesman

ST. PETERSBURG, November 17. /TASS/. Russia is planning to take part in the virtual G20 summit, scheduled for November 22, Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"Preparations are underway to participate [in it]," he said in response to a question.

Earlier, Indian External Affairs Ministry Spokesman Arindam Bagchi said that New Delhi, which is chairing the G20 in 2023, has already sent out invitations to the virtual G20 summit and expects as many G20 leaders as possible to participate.

At the G20 summit held in New Delhi on September 9-10, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi suggested that a virtual meeting of the G20 leaders take place in November. Modi said it could review the proposals put forward by the leaders at the September summit to expedite their implementation.
