MOSCOW, November 3. /TASS/. Nine bodies have been retrieved from under the debris of an office building in the settlement of Chaplinka in the Kherson Region after a Ukrainian shelling attack, the region’s governor, Vladimir Saldo, said on Friday.
"As of this moment, nine bodies have been recovered from under the debris. Nine people are badly wounded. Rescue workers continue clearing the debris," he said in an interview with the Rossiya-24 television channel.
According to Saldo, Ukrainian troops fired six missiles at a building housing a social foundation and an employment center being fully aware that there might be a lot of people there during working hours. Four missiles were shot down by Russian air defense systems.
The missile strike was delivered at 2:33 p.m. Moscow time (11:33 GMT) and caused heavy damage to the two-story brick building. Work to clear debris was suspended for some time due to another missile attack warning.
