Russian market still attractive for foreign investors despite sanctions — Russian embassy

According to the statement, anti-Russian sanctions primarily affect foreign businesses

WASHINGTON, January 27. /TASS/. Despite the restrictions that are being imposed by the US administration, the Russian market remains attractive for foreign investors, the Russian embassy in Washington said, commenting on Washington’s new anti-Russian sanctions.

"Despite all the sanctions, our market remains attractive, including for foreign investors. It adapts to new conditions," the embassy said in a statement. "Russia has been and remains open to establishing business contacts. But only on the basis of an honest approach, while maintaining market, competitive conditions for doing business."

According to the statement, anti-Russian sanctions primarily affect foreign businesses.

"Russia is successfully resisting attempts to impose a line of behavior chosen by the United States. Such "stress checks" are not new to us," the Russian diplomatic mission said. "We are convinced that foreign entrepreneurs and commercial companies are the first to suffer from the constant expansion of restrictive measures. Opportunities to continue their mutually beneficial cooperation with Russian partners are constantly shrinking."

"The US keeps "brandishing" with their illegitimate sanctions threats. Another "portion" of restrictions against Russia was announced on January 26th," the statement continues. "With each new wave of economic barriers, the inefficiency and absurdity of this approach becomes more obvious."

On Thursday, the US Treasury Department added head of the republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Deputy Prime Minister and Industry and Trade Ministry of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov and a number of other persons to the sanctions lists for Russia.
