UNITED NATIONS, May 5. /TASS/. Ukraine’s authorities are deliberately concealing information about humanitarian corridors organized by Russia from the civilian population, Fyodor Strzhizhovsky, adviser at Russia’s mission to the United Nations, said on Wednesday.
"Along with blatant lies about combat operations disseminated by Ukraine’s authorities, they distort and criminally hold back information about humanitarian corridors organized by Russia," he said at a meeting of the UN Committee on Information.
"People who manage to get evacuated say that nationalists and Ukraine’s authorities are deliberately concealing any information about how civilians can flee dangerous areas," he said. "The Russian delegation calls an unofficial Arria-formula meeting of the United Nations Security Council on May 6 to cast light on what is going on and to show what the Ukrainian army and nationalists are doing to civilians."
According to the Russian diplomat, the meeting will give floor to independent journalists who will present their reports and evidence of witnesses. "We call on everyone to attend this meeting," Strzhizhovsky stressed.
