Russia has enough options prepared to respond to British sanctions — envoy

The British authorities have been expanding their sanctions list almost every week, and Moscow has only responded with the second wave, Andrey Kelin recalled

LONDON, April 29. /TASS/. Russian authorities will continue to impose new sanctions against the UK as a response to London’s sanctions policy, Russian Ambassador to the UK Andrey Kelin told TASS Friday, commenting on personal restrictions, declared by Moscow against a number of British lawmakers.

"The principle of including British lawmakers to the sanctions list is very simply - it is a response to illegitimate actions of the British government, who declared sanctions against Russian lawmakers. Second, and it is the most important, British lawmakers worked on the anti-Russian legislation - the sanctions act against Russia, which was composed several years ago and expanded recently. These are specific actions against our country, and this is what we’ve included British lawmakers to our sanctions list for, and this is far from the last response from our side," the envoy said.

Kelin noted: "the British here have been expanding their sanctions list almost every week, and we’ve only responded with the second wave. I assure you, we’ve prepared more options," he said.
