BAKU, March 30. /TASS/. Russia seeks to further foster relations with Azerbaijan, Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Bocharnikov said at the press conference on Wednesday.
"The signing of the Declaration on Allied Cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan brings relations between the countries to a new steady level," the ambassador said.
According to Bocharnikov, Baku and Moscow have an interest in peace and security in the region. "Russia aims to further develop allied relations, friendship and good-neighborliness," he noted.
The Declaration on Allied Cooperation was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev on February 22 following the talks in the Kremlin. As Putin noted, the document is dedicated to the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations.
