Miner killed in ground fall at Urals coalmine

The incident at the Novo-Kalyinskaya mine occurred late on April 2

YEKATERINBURG, April 3. /TASS/. A miner, who was wounded in a ground fall at a mine in Severouralsk in the Sverdlovsk Region in Russia’s Urals, later died of injuries, the regional department of the Russian Investigative Committee said.

"Late on April 2, 2025 a rock burst, followed by a ground fall at the depth of 1,010 meters, occurred at a mine in the Kalya district of Severouralsk. As a result of this incident, a man born in 1995, was wounded. <…> He succumbed to his injuries," the department said on its Telegram channel.

The incident at the Novo-Kalyinskaya mine occurred late on April 2. Seven people were nearby at the time of the collapse. One of them was buried by falling rocks.
