Inflation accelerates to 0.3% in Russia over week — statistics

Inflation stood at 8.49% in annual terms as at November 11, 2024

MOSCOW, November 13. /TASS/. Inflation in Russia stood at 0.3% from November 6 to 11, 2024, the Russian federal statistical service (Rosstat) said.

Inflation was 0.19% a week earlier. Consumer prices in the country ticked up by 7.02% year to date and 0.42% from early November. Inflation stood at 8.49% in annual terms as at November 11, 2024.

According to statistics, prices gained 1.2% for butter, 0.8% for cheese, 0.7% for milk and sour cream, 0.6% for margarine, sunflower oil and hen eggs, 0.5% for frozen fish and curd, 0.4% for edible salt, 0.3% for pork, canned meat, fruits and berries for infants, bread, wheat flour, buckwheat and millet, and 0.2% for beef and dry infant formulas. Fruits and vegetables prices had an uptick by 3.6% in average, particularly for cucumbers (+8.8%), tomatoes (+5.9%), potatoes (+4.7%), onions (+4.6%), white cabbage (+4.1%), beet (+2.6%), carrots (+1.6%), bananas (+1.1%), and apples (+0.4%). Prices declined for vermicelli by 0.4%, and mutton, canned vegetables for infants and vodka by 0.2%.

Among the other nonfoods, the rise in prices was 0.5% for shampoos and 0.3% for toilet paper, toothpastes and detergents.

Prices dropped by 0.2% for vacuum cleaners

Gasoline and diesel fuel prices hiked by 0.4% and 0.1% respectively.
