SOCHI, November 6. /TASS/. Russia continues to supply oil and gas to a number of European countries and has not ceased cooperation with others, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters.
"As for European countries, we continue to cooperate with some of them, including oil and gas supplies - these are the countries that have received exceptions from sanctions. We have not refused to cooperate; the ball is not in our court. So, first and foremost, you need to ask our partners who have restricted our cooperation whether they are ready to continue it in some way or another in the future," he said on the sidelines of a meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club.
"I have never heard that we are ready to limit ourselves in any economic activities," Novak added.
The Deputy Prime Minister reminded that the contract for the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine to Europe expires at the end of the year. According to him, European countries are interested in further gas supplies via this corridor, but this depends on their agreements with Ukraine.
"We are ready to supply [gas], but little depends on us here. Therefore, perhaps this should be agreed upon directly by consumers and the transit country," he added.
