HAIKOU /China/, April 14. /TASS/. Companies from the Republic of Tatarstan held a series of meetings with potential Chinese partners at the 4th China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE) taking place in Haikou city (southern Hainan province).
"It is good that we have found our colleagues who are already here and through them we are able to find the right counterparties on the Chinese side. Today we have 11 companies from Tatarstan here with us," Arthur Nikolaev, First Deputy Chairman of the Republic of Tatarstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, told TASS.
According to the official, the companies in question are mainly involved in machine-building and manufacturing. "Although we are called the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, but first of all we still count on production, because if there is production, there will be something to sell, and trade organizations will always find an opportunity to sell," Nikolaev said.
Participation in the exhibition, he believes, was a useful experience for companies from Tatarstan, given that it brought together Chinese manufacturers from 33 provinces. It allowed to study region-specific products and gave an understanding in which of them it is possible to find partners more quickly. "Expectations regarding China are very serious," he added.
Speaking about the priority areas of cooperation, Nikolaev noted that first of all it is various equipment, machine tools, tools and technologies, if we are talking about imports from China. As for exports from Tatarstan, an important direction is the supply of agro-industrial products.
Nikolaev pointed out that China is always flexible under pressure and finds options for development, and the Russian market is among its priorities. This is confirmed by the increasing pace of bilateral cooperation, the first deputy chairman believes. According to the official, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry is also waiting for all interested Chinese companies at the Russian-Chinese forum Rostki, which will be held in Tatarstan in November this year.
Hainan Expo
The 4th China International Consumer Products Expo kicked off on Saturday featuring more than 4,000 brands from more than 70 countries and regions around the world, including Russia. The event will be held from April 13 to 18 at the Hainan International Exhibition Center in Haikou. The total area of all pavilions will amount to 100 thousand square meters. meters. The exhibition is expected to be visited by about 55 thousand professional buyers.
Chinese authorities see this expo as an important part of their efforts to build a free trade port on Hainan. The project implementation program envisages turning the island into a special customs zone.
