State financing of geological exploration amounted to $130 mln in 2023, Yevgeny Petrov noted

MOSCOW, April 4. /TASS/. More than 40 fields with reserves exceeding 43 mln tons of oil, 145 bln cubic meters of gas and 24 mln tons of condensate were discovered in Russia in 2023, Head of the Federal Agency for Mineral Resources Yevgeny Petrov said.

"Regarding raw hydrocarbon deposits last year saw 43 fields with total reserves exceeding 43 mln tons of oil, 145 bln cubic meters of gas and 24 mln tons of condensate discovered," he said.

State financing of geological exploration amounted to 12 bln rubles ($130 mln) in 2023, Petrov noted, adding that the volume of producers’ investment is stable, not having declined over the past several years, roughly standing at 320 bln rubles ($3.4 bln). "Our major companies, vertically integrated oil firms accounted for 80%," he said.
