TASHKENT, March 13. /TASS/. Thirteen Russian companies became foreign residents in the IT park in Uzbekistan in January-February 2024, which is the highest number among foreign companies registered on the information technology platform in that period, the press service of the IT park reported.
According to the press service, in two months of 2024, 32 companies from 12 countries received foreign resident status, including 13 companies from Russia, six from the USA, three from South Korea and two from Turkey.
"The number of IT Park residents is constantly growing. In January, 75 companies became IT Park residents, in February the growth dynamics accelerated, and already 134 new companies received this status," the statement says.
In 2023, 426 companies with foreign capital had resident status in the IT park. The volume of exports of their services in 2023 soared by 2.4 times compared to 2022 and amounted to $344 million.
The IT park of Uzbekistan was created in July 2019 in the Yashnabad district of Tashkent. In 2023, it launched the Zero Risk program to support foreign companies, making it possible to simplify the localization of foreign businesses in the field of information technology.
