BAKU, March 5. /TASS/. An increase of the level of mutual investments is an important task for Moscow and Baku, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said during talks with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ali Asadov.
"We see the buildup of trade and economic cooperation and, certainly, the increase of bilateral, mutual investments from Russia and from Azerbaijan as a priority task," Mishustin said.
The mutual turnover totaled 370 bln rubles ($4.1 bln), the Russian Prime Minister noted. "We certainly see the huge potential for development of interaction in the whole number of areas. This is energy, industry, shipbuilding, agriculture, high technologies and innovations - a vast field for joint projects and joint investments," Mishustin noted.
Logistics and transport are also considered to be one of key areas for cooperation, he continued. "We are accelerating the upgrade of border crossings. Their throughput capacity will grow to 3,000 motor vehicles per day after completion of renovation," Mishustin stressed. "We are dealing with development of railway, moto and marine infrastructure of the western route of the North - South international transport corridor," he added.
Russia and Kazakhstan have capabilities to expand cooperation in the energy sector, Mishustin said. "This refers to current projects and to new promising initiatives," he added.
