Russia to boost export of agriculture products to China in 2030 — minister

Russian Economic Development Minister Maksim Reshetnikov noted the huge potential of the Chinese market and excess capacity of Russian pork producers

BEIJING, December 19. /TASS/. Moscow plans to increase considerably export of agriculture products to China by 2030, Russian Economic Development Minister Maksim Reshetnikov told reporters in Beijing when commenting on Russia’s and China’s new trade turnover target of $300 bln.

"What we connect the increase of this figure [$300 bln by 2030] with: first, we plan to dynamically boost turnover of trade in agriculture products in the future," he said, adding that Beijing has allowed pork supplies from Russia. "This requires a certain process, though we expect supplies to start by the end of next year," the minister said. He also noted the huge potential of the Chinese market and excess capacity of Russian pork producers.

Siluanov called agriculture supplies the driver for extension of trade ties with China. He also noted Moscow’s possibilities on grain supplies from Siberia and soybean deliveries from the Far East to China.
