Japan prohibits exports of certain types of cars to Russia

Restrictions will come into force on August 9

TOKYO, July 28. /TASS/. As part of its anti-Russian sanctions, the government of Japan resolved to prohibit imports of cars with engine displacement exceeding 1.9 liters and hybrid electric vehicles, Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Yasutoshi Nishimura told reporters on Friday.

Japan will also prohibit exports of truck tires to the country.

"The restrictions will come into force on August 9," he added.
