Spain purchases 55% more Russian gas in 2022 than in 2021, says corporation

In December, the volume of Russian gas purchased by the kingdom rose by almost 30% year-on-year

MADRID, February 8. /TASS/. Russian gas volumes purchased by Spain last year were around 55% higher than in 2021, according to figures provided by the Corporation for Strategic Stocks of Petroleum Products on Wednesday.

Particularly, the kingdom purchased 56,021 GWh of gas from Russia in 2022, which made Russia the fourth-largest gas supplier to Spain last year after the US, Algeria, and Nigeria.

In December, the volume of Russian gas purchased by the kingdom rose by almost 30% year-on-year. This made Russia the third-largest gas supplier to the kingdom in the reporting period after the US and Algeria.
