Putin demands not to export entire harvest abroad

It is noted that the demand will be high and it is already in place, despite all the logistical, freight and insurance constraints

MOSCOW, January 17. /TASS/. The export of Russia’s entire harvest should be prevented as the country needs stable reserves, President Vladimir Putin said.

"While there is a need for us to provide for the financial results of companies operating in the agribusiness sphere, we cannot allow everything to be taken abroad. The demand will be high and it is already in place, despite all the logistical, freight and insurance constraints. We definitely need reserves; we do not know the results of agricultural performance in 2023," the head of state said.

The Russian leader cited the situation in other countries as an example. So, in Japan, the weather is warm, while it is minus 25 degrees Celsius in Turkmenistan and minus 23 degrees Celsius in Uzbekistan. "What are we going to have here? We can’t really say for sure. That’s why we definitely need stable reserves," Putin added.
